3rd Thursday Reception: Hugh O’Neill
Hugh O’Neill is an internationally acclaimed artist and was the first to introduce Plein Air into the Lighthouse ArtCenter and the Society of the Four Arts. He studied painting at the University of Ulster, Belfast, Ireland, from 1981-1985. After graduating with honors in 1985,
he immigrated to the USA. Much of his work hangs in many important collections throughout the world and has won many awards. He will talk about the history of Plein Air and how it documents historical places and landscapes. He will also talk about what makes a good plein air painting and how to preserve a wet painting.
